In May of 2023, Dr. Kathleen Laux, a long-time associate of Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates, bought the practice from Dr. Eric Hartelius. He founded the practice in 1991 when he started as a small garage based practice. In the last several decades, the practice has grown and moved to its current location in Kerhonkson, NY.
The practice offers a variety of services, from preventative care for cats and dogs to advanced diagnostics and surgery. We use a blend of traditional diagnostics and treatments such as laboratory work, radiographs, ultrasound, and surgery and alternative therapies such as acupuncture and chiropractic to take a multi-modal approach to helping your pet.
We also work hand in hand with our sister entity Hudson Valley Animal Wellness to provide a full rehabilitation center. We use a combination of cold laser therapy, underwater and land treadmills, cavalettis, balance boards, and other modalities to help animals with injuried, pain, weight loss, or post surgical rehabilitation.
