Meet the Team

Dr. Kathleen Laux became the proud sole owner of Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates in May 2023 and continues to work alongside the past owner, Dr. Eric Hartelius. It was very important to her to keep the practice a local, small business and not see it sold to a corporation.

Dr Eric Hartelius is a general companion animal practitioner and is the former owner of Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates. He was raised in the Hudson Valley, graduating from Rondout Valley High School in 1978.

Dr. Troy Hexter grew up in Columbus, Ohio. He comes from a family where he always had a love for animals. He went to Ohio State University for his undergraduate and then to The Ohio State University for his Doctorate.

Sharon has been working in the veterinary profession since 1991. Before coming to Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates, she worked along side Dr. Arnold Rugg for over 25 years.

Mirinda grew up in Nevada and moved to the Hudson Valley in 2021 with her dog Odin. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration in 2019 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Rebecca has been with the practice since 2014. She started out as an assistant and worked her way up to be our Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician. She obtained her degree through SUNY Ulster and passed the VTNE in 2017.

Shondelle joined the Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates team in September of 2005.

Megan has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2012 after graduating from SUNY Ulster. She has had an interest in animals from a young age. She has been with Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates since 2021.

Debbie has been a licensed veterinary technician since 1992 after graduating from Suny Delhi. When not working she enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Bo and Luke, and her husband.

Kelly grew up outside of Albany and has been living in the Hudson Valley since 2006.

Denise has been working at Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates since 2007. She currently has two wonderful pets; “Denver” her Golden retriever, and “Kirby” the chinchilla. In the past she has been blessed to have a variety of pets in her life.

Hello! My name is Tabitha and that’s my dog Blaze! He’s a Great Dane/ Rottweiler mix and is my best friend. ☺️ My passion for animals goes way further than my household, and I have a passion for taking care of your fur babies as well.
